Mishel Schwartz is a Toronto, Ontario based artist, known for creating pieces with captivating colours, rich, complex detail, and multi-textured elements. Through her work, she strives to find a balance between the need for control and the desire for freedom.
Her primary inspiration comes from the organic world and the undeniable lure of nature. Using the dynamic interplay of light and shadow, she alludes to the sights, smells and shapes of all living things in the abstract, enabling the viewer to interpret its form and meaning.
Schwartz’s use of colour is both harmonious and dynamic, and her attention to balance and detail makes her works a sophisticated choice in abstract expressionism art.
Schwartz’s work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and collections, both in Canada and internationally. In 2017, she had her first solo show at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto, Canada. Her work is also held in private collections in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
